The thing I love about pharmacy is the contact with our clients, many who are friends. We all have our oath in life and the diversity in experience continues to interest and amaze me. In 2019 with the help and motivation of some of our clients I managed to fulfil the lifelong dream to walk the Kokoda Track. The experience was truly amazing and profoundly humbling.
I love being a pharmacist. Passing on essential information, tailored and appropriate, for each client is both challenging and rewarding.
My areas of interest include – Asthma & Airways conditions (3 asthmatic children); Cardiac including High Blood pressure (I have high BP); Autoimmune conditions (In our family we have Chrons, R.A., Polymyalgia Rheumatica, Lupus, etc); Diabetes (1.3 Million Australians know they have it and they estimate another 1.3 Million don’t know that they have it.); Fibromyalgia (A very misunderstood condition that I have); Children’s medications (Again with 3 children I understand the pressures that parents can be under).
I love a happy work environment, I like to laugh, I find laughter lifts the spirits.
I have been working as a pharmacist for over thirty years. I enjoy being able to help people with their health enquiries. Dispensing prescriptions, explaining medications and offering advice are all very rewarding aspects of being a pharmacist.
One of my special areas of interest is asthma management. The high incidence of asthma on the Central Coast means there is a need for increased awareness of how to identify and manage the symptoms of asthma. Correctly treated asthma can lead to a greatly improved quality of life.
